MACHINE HEAD: Show Cancellations Likely Following Passing Of Drummer's Mother
February 14, 2008San Francisco Bay Area metallers MACHINE HEAD will likely miss the the next couple of dates on their current tour with HELLYEAH, BURY YOUR DEAD and NONPOINT following the death of drummer Dave McClain's mother. The group's frontman, Robb Flynn, has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that an official statement on the matter will be issued in the next couple of hours.
MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel sat out several dates on the band's European tour in December due to the passing of his father. He eventually rejoined his bandmates for the final show of "The Black Crusade" trek on December 14 in Helsinki, Finland.
MACHINE HEAD garnered the first Grammy nomination of its career for "Aesthetics of Hate", a monstrous track from the critically hailed album "The Blackening", released in March 2007. The song was nominated for "Best Metal Performance" (SLAYER eventually won the award for "The Final Six").
